The Ring

Something has been bugging me for a long time.  I've been going to blog about it but it never seems that important.  Today is rainy and gloomy AGAIN so today is the day.  Here it is:

Last year at the end of June (that would be in 2009)  we hosted our annual Polson Fireworks Extravaganza for the last time.  It was probably the most fun I have ever had in hosting this event.  I think we invited close to 500 people and about 250 were there.  The best part of it all was that some dear friends and family (one and the same) of mine were able to come and help us get ready for it and just to be there.  But that is not what is bugging me.

Usually after we have hosted this event the past 6 or 7 years (not sure how long) there are a host of items left here that people forget after the fireworks is done and the lights come back on in the yard.  Sometimes I know who they belong to but generally with that many people attending there is no way to know.  I understand how you could forget a dish, or a lounge chair or your leftover food (not likely that there IS any leftover food) because in the rush of people trying to find their cars and get on the road home it is a little crazy.

But last year someone left something at my house and it has been bugging me every single day since.  Mostly because I have been looking at it in my kitchen window each time I am standing there which we all know is a significant amount of time.  I think you will understand why it is bugging me.

Yes, it is a ring.  It seems to be a man's ring and I have been looking at it for over 8 months now.  Soon after the party we asked people who had spent the night here if they had left it.  No one had.  I think there were 17 people who spent the night here.  We even had announced it had been found during the movie section of the party over the loud speaker.  No takers.

So.  I hope that someone who reads this will know who the ring belongs to and I hope that person will claim it because you've been missing it for a really long time.  If not, I guess I'll just be looking at it a little longer.

  1. Can't help you with the ring.

But hey, do you have a spare collection of Tupperware containers? I've been missing two of my biggest pieces for a long time, so now I'm wondering if by any chance they took up residence at your place???

I still use a nice slotted spoon that no one would claim after one of our corn parties years ago!
